CARROT Weather App Reviews

I just downloaded Carrot Weather for iOS and installed it on my Apple Watch as well. Everything works as advertised and the voice is very “Siri-like.” I read that precipitation and severe weather alerts can be received, but you need to have Carrot Weather for OS X installed and running. I purchased that app for my iMac. We haven’t had any severe weather warnings yet, so I can’t report on how that function works. I’m a real weather junkie, and have tried just about every weather app for iOS, and I really love this one!

This App is just plain fun

I have Carrot apps on my iphone and have been following and buying them since the beginning, so I am a fan. I like the extra info on the Mac app and love to support apps and developers who create both iOS and Mac apps so I can have them on all my devices.

This app is over priced and does not report acurate weather, a waste of money and time

Nice app but expect modifications and a desktop background (live) would be nice. Love the animation and backgrounds… want them as a changing wallpaper. Please, please…. Good weather app

Soon after the TV anchors shooting in Virginia I was greeted with a picture of a person with a rifle aimed at a weatherman with the caption “….shoot your weatherman”. I’m old and I’m Canadian so I realize I’m not on the same wavelength as most young people, and American young people at that. I think its a great idea and the graphics are good. Its missing the “Feels Like” feature which I think is crucial for humid climates. Its just too dark-edgy for me—we have enough of that in real life. I deleted the app from my phone and computer and asked for, and received, a refund. Thanks, Apple.

The concept is cute for a total of one day, and then the voice gets extremely annoying. The graphics are nice, though not enough to justify the price.

Best Application.. Works Great.. Voice Alert is the best Feature..Cool Animations.. :) Love it

Very Precise weather app will tell you within minutes when the sky will fall. I had the occasion to test it in different cities in North America including Canada and I can attest for it’s accuracy. Their is a nice funny touch to the app.

I like how this app gives my mac some personality. Also adds a bit of humor into a other mundane task of checking the daily weather forcast.

Memory leakage still seems to be not fixed...

Helpful, always on time, great notification center widget. The way carrot gives her weather reports always cheers me up. Would be great if other carrot apps get ported to the mac app store

What’s not to love. There are a couple of minor (and I do mean minor) hiccups with this. Mostly with one particular secret location that works on the iOS app but not the Mac app. I have written the dev about it. Hopefully it will get fixed soon. Other that that, it is a small problem, it does what it is suppose to tells me what the weather is, and what gives me a prediction of what it could be. It’s a weather app, I don’t need and more than that. The sarcasm does add fun to it

I love CARROT on MacOS. It is a pleasant way to take a mundane, everyday need for information and turn it into something enjoyable. I like to keep it active in my dock so I can pull it up, be amused, and perhaps poke its ocular sensor...repeatedly.

I love Carrot. It’s a pricey app but it keeps me entertained so it was worth it to me. This snarky app dishes up the weather with a side of sarcasm for all us meatbags to enjoy. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to unlock the secret locations. Using Carrot puts a bit of fun into checking the weather forecast and its weather predictions are accurate for my area.

This updates makes it even better, and it’s still my favorite Mac weather app.

I spent an evening troubleshooting this application because it would not initialize upon boot. Console log indicated that the application could not rectify the system font. Upon suggestion from the CARROT’s support, I removed all non-system fonts and assured that I don’t have a third-party font manager. The next solution was to wipe my disk. That’s it. It’s either another developer’s fault or mine. They sent me to Apple’s refunding protocol, but didn’t bother to look into their own source code because they could not find “a common cause”. The iOS version is a nice enough application: the humor is pleasantly macabre and the forecast is not erroneous. That’s not to say it’s the most accurate forecaster ever, but at least it’s not wrong. However, despite how cordial their support is, they’re pretty unknowlegdable.
